Special Announcement: The Jolyn Project ends, A Little Positivity begins

Dear Readers,

I have some bad news and some good news to share. The bad news is that The Jolyn Project is officially over. I have had a ball working on this project for the past three years but like everything else in life, it was time for a major change. I wasn’t getting the results I wanted and the material became stale for me. However, I did not want to stop bringing positive energy to you guys so the good news is that I started a new site titled A Little Positivity! The site is similar to The Jolyn Project but the sections are simpler, giving me more room to play as writer and creator. For now, I just released alittlepositivity.com on a soft launch, testing it out to gauge the reaction and work on any tweaks and slight changes that may need to be made before the major launch, which is currently scheduled for April 1st. With that in mind, I welcome all feedback which you can provide under the new posts on the site and privately in the contact page. I want to make this the best I can possibly make it for you guys so please, please give me your honest opinion. Also, if you like The Jolyn Project, then I believe you will love A Little Positivity once it really gets going. I plan on doing some new things on the new site that I never done on The Jolyn Project so to keep up to date, please subscribe to my email list, follow me on WordPress, like me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. You can find all the ways to connect to me easily on the page which you can view here: A Little Positivity {dot} com.

I am still going back and forth on what to do with this page. I may keep it up for awhile. I may not. In any case, I will definitely keep some of my best posts and place it in A Little Positivity with edits.

Lastly, I want to truly thank you guys for your support throughout the years and I hope you continue to support me through my latest venture, A Little Positivity. I love you guys very much and I wish you the very best whether you check out my new site or not (but I really hope you do!)

Love,

Tunisia

P.S. I am going to work on another page to showcase my creative pursuits titled A Little Expression where my poetry books will be placed. I will update you guys on that project hopefully in the summertime. In addition, TunisiaJolyn.com will also get a full revamp as well. I hope to have everything up and running by the end of summer.

be active: pray for clarity, gain clarity

winterdayIn our prayers, some of us have a tendency to pray for things, for situations to end, for pain to stop. However, a lot of us forget to pray for the qualities that are needed to gain the things, to end the situations, to stop the pain. One major quality is clarity. With a clear view of any given situation, the mind cleans itself from the clutter and creates a healthier environment to focus and gain positive results.

Singer and actor Tyrese Gibson recently posted a video that really sheds light on this.  Please feel free to watch below.

listen & love: keep going

Keep Going
by T-Pain
Thr33 Ringz

Yeah
Uh
Ahem
Keep going
Yeah
They get me up in the morning
They give me reason to believe I’m here
For somebody
For someone
They make me feel so joyous
Happiness ain’t a word describe, what I feel
Like when I try to give it up
Sick and tired of all this stuff
They give me reason to
Keep going
And going
When I feel that I should quit
I keep going
I never knew this would happen
And if you knew bout my past you would see
Why
Its a miracle
But you can see why I’m happy
Nobody wished this for me
This was prayer
Where would I be with out them
And when try to give it up
Sick and tired of all this stuff
When I feel like its enough
I keep going
They give me reason to keep going
And going
And going

be inspired: honesty can inspire honesty

EarthaKitt
“A man has always wanted to lay me down, but never wanted to pick me up” – Eartha Kitt

There is nothing like honesty. The kind of honesty that is deep in the core of a person; that honesty that reveals the reasons behind a person’s thoughts, emotions, views of oneself and the world. Usually, this type of honesty tries to hide itself because the truth hurts but the truth also heals deep wounds. There is nothing more beautiful then to see someone living in their truth and to observe them expressing their truth no matter how gorgeous or how ugly that truth is for that person. When a person is capable of sharing his or her truth with another, it gives permission for the other to share their truth comfortably and safely. All of us have layers of life but a lot of us like to hide our layers, only showing the prettiest, the safest and sometimes, the blandest parts of ourselves.

One of the most captivating elements in art is its honesty. When one sees a painting that really resonates with him or her, it gives the viewer permission to feel those emotions that may have been buried. When one hears a song that really touches one’s soul, it gives the listener permission to capture a piece of oneself that may have been hidden from the world. When one reads a piece of poetry that sinks into the heart of the matter, it gives permission for the reader to dig deeper into oneself. When one sees a scene from a movie that is moving, it gives the watcher permission to notice the humanity in the characters, in oneself and those around him or her. Even when one witnesses an in-depth interview with an artist (or anyone for that matter), it gives one permission to speak their truth in the most honest way possible.

A great example of such an interview is one with Eartha Kitt and Terry Wogan in 1989. The way Ms. Kitt expresses the early years of her life and how it affected her is so bold, brilliant and beautiful. Her honesty can inspire humanity’s honesty if we all are willing to open and share our hidden truths and allow honesty to inspire our honesty.

be active: learn a career-enhancing lesson

business

In today’s workforce, it is best to learn as many skills as possible. There is one great website I found a long time ago that offers free online classes on a variety of career-oriented tasks from Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.) to Internet basics to career development and much more. I actually learned Microsoft Excel and Word (with mail merging) on this site. GCFLearnFree.org offers video and written instructions providing simple steps in learning a variety of skills that can be very useful in the job market. Learn something new and check it out HERE! By the way, I am not getting anything by sharing this website. I am simply sharing a site that helped me when I was applying for jobs in hopes that it may be helpful for you.

Do you know about a free website that offers great career-enhancing lessons? Please feel free to share it in the comment section below! The more reference websites the better!

listen & love: energy

Energy
by Iman Omari
Energy EP

[Verse 1]
I only see one thing
In this world that I need
No war coming from me
Just want the love’s chemistry
Good vibes and energy
Is all that fills around me
If it’s not on your level
Then why don’t you just let me be

[Hook]
Said, all we really need
Is better energy (Yeah)
Said, all we really need
Is better energy

[Verse 1]

[Verse 2]
I got that energy, energy
Exactly what I need
If you feeling me, feeling me
Then we got some chemistry
I can only see one thing
That’s the energy in me
Even though I want you near me
Check me, I can make you leave
I can lead a horse to water
But I fail to make one drink
I’mma call you Sleeping Beauty
Cause you perfect, but you sleep
Granny told me love is fate
But for sure it’s nothing cheap
So for now, just keep assuming
Girl I dig your energy
