Exercise does not have to be a rigorous chore. It can be a fun activity, believe it or not. As long as your body’s moving and you are sweating, then you are doing something right. Sure, you can go the traditional route of crunches, jumping jacks, running and weight lifting or you can take the road less traveled.
There are a number of ways of losing weight, getting cardio and toning your body. Here are just three cool ways to get your body moving:
1. Play a game: I don’t mean the Playstation, Xbox or internet games where pushing buttons is the only means of physical activity. Go outside and enjoy the fresh air. You can play a host of games with adults, children and even pets whether it’s basketball, tennis, football, volleyball, jump rope, hopscotch, hide and seek or even playing catch with your furry companion. Whatever the game, you should make sure that it requires lots of movement. This is also a great way to spend time with your loved ones and friends. If you happen to be alone, there are other games like jumping rope, hula hooping and even wii games (if you just have to use something electronic).
2. Get on wheels: If it is a beautiful day outside, then why not enjoy it by taking a joy ride on your bike or sight seeing on roller skates or enjoying the winter weather on ice skates. You could also try skateboarding for the first time. Sure walking is fine but being on wheels is cool!
3. Take an adventure: Take a risk and try something new. Go hiking. Try rock climbing. Get on a horse and ride. Take swimming lessons. Canoe or play paintball with some friends. Go camping. Prepare for a race. Go out dancing. You would be amazed what you and your body can do once you go on an adventure. The possibilities are endless.
