My Banana Ice Cream with Sexy Strawberry Sauce!

I know making ice cream does not sound like the most life changing action in the world but it just might be the tastiest! I just discovered the joys of this treat yesterday and let me tell you….it is mmm mmm good. I am so excited about this treat because it is easy and most importantly, it is healthy. So therefore, you can say that making banana ice cream is life changing because it promotes better health in a fun and sweet way!

The recipe is very simple. All you need is some fresh bananas, (1 and 1/2 – 2 medium size bananas per serving), slice them in one inch pieces, place them in a zip lock bag, throw those bad boys in the freezer and then wait overnight or so, take them out of the freezer, place them in a food processor, blend it until it’s smooth and voilà! You got yourself some soft serve banana ice cream that is creamy and delish! Can you tell I love this?

Now, if you want to get fancy like me, you can add cocoa powder and have chocolate banana ice cream or add vanilla extract and have vanilla banana ice cream or even make my simple strawberry sauce and drizzle that on top of it. If you wish to make the last suggestions, here is the recipe: I used about 8 strawberries, diced them and place them in about 2 tablespoons of agave nectar and let it sit in the refrigerator for a day. I am not sure if that is necessary but that’s what I did. Afterwards, I took most of the diced strawberries and put them in the food processor, blended them until smooth and toss it back in the container with the rest of the strawberries and stirred and that’s it! Pour it over your banana ice cream and I promise you, you’re going to smack your mama!

How can you NOT love this dessert? Okay, I know a few ways but this is not for banana-hating, banana-allergic folks. Everyone else in the world, how can you NOT love this dessert!? Just try it and let me know how it is for you. You may not get as excited as me but I love food and I love sweets so to find a healthy alternative to ice cream is a big deal for me. Now, I just have to learn how to not have too much. lol Anyway, I really hope you guys enjoy this treat as much as me!
